In Africa, leagues, federations, clubs, and sports organizations are the foundational elements required to build a robust, professional, and business-oriented sports industry. However, clubs and leagues, the bedrock organizations that own the products on which the entire industry is built, often have limited resources to produce high-quality products that can attract significant business investments.

To address this challenge effectively, a multifaceted and inclusive approach is essential. This approach encompasses the need to involve professionals from beyond the traditional sports sector, encouraging them to play a vital role in the development of the sports ecosystem. This involvement extends to activities off the field that contribute significantly to the growth of sports, including media coverage rights, marketing, event organization, hospitality, event financing, branding, athlete scouting, sports health, and transportation, among others.

The SportsBiz Africa Forum associates its goals with the UN SDGs and will make an effective and efficient contribution to Goal No. 8, which aims at promoting sustained, inclusive, and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment, and decent work for all.
